I spent my first year at Syracuse University adjusting to the school: all you could eat food and no dishes in the cafeteria, navigating a sprawling campus, and new teammates and coaches. Most of us student athletes ate at Shaw Hall because it was closer to the field house than the other cafeterias and the easiest to reach following practice. I remember the ice cream did serious damage to the pistachio ice cream. As a junior college transfer who practically starved for two years, I never complained about the cafeteria food.
