Take Direct Action

A collective open response such as boycotting and picketing a store or company to end unjust policies are called direct action protests. Its more of a commitment than posting something on social media. My first exposure to a direct action protest occurred during my childhood when my parents decided to support the United Farm Workers grape boycott in the 1970s. Large numbers of US citizens decided not to purchase grapes from grocery stores because the United Farm Workers organized and told consumers about the inhumane working conditions their members had been enduring in places like California. That was more than 30 years ago and I still remember my parents educating me about the boycott. Direct action causes company policy changes and it makes elected officials to pass common sense gun control laws or loose their seats in the US senate.
