Today we continue the series on good nutrition and the work of Dr. Alvenia M. Fulton. This story focuses on the essential nutrients that we need and how to consume them through the foods that we eat.

Dr. Fulton explains, “there are 40 known nutrients essential to normal health. If one nutrient is deficient, the other 39 cannot perform this function adequately.” Some like vitamins a water-soluble (they dissolve in water). To ensure the maximum potential, when possible take them with milk at mealtime. Consume plenty of vitamin C at mealtime or consider taking a multiple vitamin. A diet rich in onions and garlic does wonders to fight off infections viruses. An excellent daily health strategy is a cup of hot lemon juice and water sweetened with honey taking before breakfast.
