Stumping and Eating in Colorado
Republicans and Democrats have been fiercely competing to win state and local elections since the Ohio Caucus earlier this month. Starting in 2008 Democrats started improving their ground game including opening campaign office and registering new voters in Hispanic communities and spending large amounts campaign funds on Spanish-language media.
During a campaign visit to Pueblo, Colorado, President Obama went to Romero's restaurant and ordered a breakfast burrito, took pictures with customers, and playfully took a straw poll among them on which state had the best burritos. All of this is an attempt to identify with voters through their palates and gain their votes.
