Elizabeth Taylor was born in 1932 a suburb of London in the UK during the Great Depression as the daughter of two U. S. expatriates from Kansas. In 1960 she became the highest paid actress of her era when she signed a contract with 20th Century Fox to star in the movie Cleopatra.Taylor demonstrated her foodie credentials during the filming of Cleopatra in Rome when she had buckets of Chasen’s chili ordered as takeout from the Los Angeles based restaurant and flown to Italy. Now that’s star power!
