Thanksgiving Day Memories and Leftovers
Food is in part is about family memories, hopefully good memories. When we eat certain foods, they remind us of older relatives and friends who we broke bread with on past Thanksgiving Days. It’s more than the great stuffing, corn bread, biscuits, or gravy; it’s the people who made them with great love and care. The same is true with how we use and eat Thanksgiving Day leftovers; they trigger memories from times long ago. Here is a link to some recipes for your Thanksgiving leftovers. As I did with Thanksgiving, I am going to provide stories and observations about Christmas food history, traditions, and related recipes over the next couple of weeks.
