Today we continue the theme of National Chicken Month.

Maggie White migrated from Windsor, North Carolina to Ossining, New York, in Westchester County, 30 minutes north of New York City. During the Great Depression she kept her “big boned” children filled with chicken ’n’ dumplings during holidays. Joyce White tell us that as a child in Alabama in the 1940s, she remembers the smell of homemade chicken and dumplings filling her home on holidays. Please share your childhood memories and recipes in the comment section below.
