A theme among some of the folks ranting at the health care town hall meetings is their taxes are too high already. It always amazes me how people in this country want good roads and bridges, public schools, parks, public transportation, and now health care without paying much for it. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t enjoy paying taxes but I want quality services. I have seen for myself what happens in other countries when you don’t invest in quality health care. Also anyone who has renovated part of their house knows that if you get three bids for a job, don’t take the lowest one. Why, because you always get what you pay for and the work in the end is typically unsatisfactory. So raise my taxes some if it means a better quality of life for the majority of citizens.
