In the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Black Panther Party (BPP) leveraged boycotts to influence businesses to change oppressive policies and to support BPP initiatives. Boycotts work the best when you have large numbers of supporters who refuse to purchase products from the targeted business or company. Lost sales as an amazing power to change a company’s policies.
