Denouncing Customer Exploitation
In the summer of 1968, the Black Panther Party for Self Defense chapter in Boston hosted party cofounder Bobby Seale. Seale addressed a large crowd on the Boston Common unpacking point number three of the movement’s 10 point program, ending the exploitation of black people. As it relates to food the Panthers denounced grocery stores and bodegas in lower caste communities that sold inferior food at high prices and thereby exploited lower caste shoppers. Seale denounced capitalist exploitation no matter what the capitalist looked like.
