More on Nora Burns White from our series on Women’s History. Burns White migrated from South Carolina to Westchester County New York where she worked as a domestic servant. She tells a funny story about the first time she worked solo for a family and she was called on to make lasagna for dinner. She said sure, but had no clue how to make it. She never ate it growing up in South Carolina. So with a cookbook and soulful intuition the lasagna turned out great!
