Naturopath Dr. Alvenia Fulton (1893-1999) was born in Tennessee and migrated to Chicago where she practiced. What push factors contributed to her decision to migrate to Chicago? Fulton had similar motivations to other African-Americans before and after her who departed the South. White men sexually assaulting black women with no fear of arrest or jail time. African-Americans in the South had grown tired of constant injustices, corruption, and political trickery.
