Trader Joe’s and other grocery stores have food donation initiatives. On holidays like Christmas they need extra help from volunteers to make food deliveries otherwise the food goes in dumpsters. Food waste is such a tragic problem in our country. Ask a store or soup kitchen manager if they have a food donation program and if they need volunteers.
